Description/Abstract:

Short Description: This presentation will provide the audience with a look at the results from Stormwater ONE’s PEAK Performance Program. PEAK is an acronym for Partnership, Education, Assessment, and Knowledge. The program is designed as an employee enrichment program and also serves to assess the effectiveness of Stormwater ONE’s online stormwater management credentialing programs. Abstract: It is well known that e-learning can be an effective training medium when courses are designed and delivered properly. Universities and corporations have adopted e-learning due to its proven effectiveness and efficiencies. Stormwater ONE, which is an online occupational trade school for stormwater management, has created a program designed to measure the effectiveness of their courses. The program is called the PEAK Performance Program. PEAK is an acronym for Partnership, Education, Assessment, and Knowledge. The PEAK Performance Program has dual purpose: it isolates improvement opportunities within the online curriculum; and provides agencies and organizations with a measurable employee enrichment program. Employee enrichment programs strive to empower employees through training and development programs that provide feedback and encouragement through effective communication. Organizations that use employee enrichment programs see an increase in productivity and performance as well as an increase in morale and employee retention. Participants of this program begin by completing a baseline assessment to document their knowledge of stormwater management during construction activities. The learners then complete a series of online courses and corresponding exams, which includes their States Construction General Permit. Participants then complete a post learning activity knowledge assessment. A data analysis is performed and the results are presented in personalized confidential reports, which compares them to their peers. Organizational leadership receive a report on the overall performance of the group. This presentation will provide the audience with a look at: results of the PEAK Performance Program; an assessment of the program effectiveness; and design improvements to enhance the online curriculum.
