QISP Qualification

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Industrial General Permit Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP).

Create an Account

To administer the IGP QISP Training Program, CASQA partners with the Office of Water Programs at Sacramento State (OWP). Log in or create an OWP account. Upon login, ‘Stormwater Certificates’ then ‘IGP QISP’.

After confirming that you have read the Industrial General Permit, read the SMARTS guides, and completed the self-assessment questionnaire, complete the following QISP Training Steps.

QISP Training Steps

  • Step 1. Register and pay the fee to take the QISP exam
  • Step 2. Complete the online training
  • Step 3. Pass the midterm online exam
  • Step 4. Complete the one-day, in-person training with an IGP ToR
  • Step 5. Pass the final online exam

    Receive the QISP Certificate

    Upon completing the training course and passing the exam, your QISP certificate will be sent to the email address you provide during registration. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current. If you change jobs, move to a new address, or change your email address, be sure to update your listing.

    QISP Look Up Tool

    Your name, QISP certificate number, and expiration date will be posted for public reference on the QISP Lookup Tool. You can choose to make your contact information available as well. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current. If you change jobs, move to a new address, or change your email address, be sure to update your listing.

    QISP Qualification Renewal

    The initial qualification is valid for 2 years. It must be renewed to stay valid. For the steps to renew your qualification go to the QISP Renewal page.
